Open Letter to Dawn Yang/Yeo

Dear Dawn

In the digital age, news travel faster than you can imagine. I am quite sure by this time, you should have already read this. Let me assure you with my experience working in the media industry and covering entertainment news that unless you come clean and tell us once and for all the truth (as to whether you have had plastic surgery), the speculations and allegations will haunt you and could adversely affect your career as an artiste. And trust me on this: Those who tell you that bad publicity is still good publicity are just trying to comfort you.

I think you owe it to all your potential fans to clarify things here/explain in your blog with regards to this issue so that we can all put it to a rest. This would be in your very best interest.

I just realized not too long ago that Dawn was my friend's JC classmate. Congrats Babe for being voted the hottest blogger and the first singaporean blogger to land an artiste management contract!

I am sure the talent agency will figure out the best hairstyle for you.

A sad tale of BAD Journalism

In response to the article written by reporter Jeremy Au Yong in the Straits Times on Oct 30th 2005 (read the article here), one of my readers Sarah Tan sent an email to the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) as well as the Handicaps Welfare Association to clarify whether said reporter quoted them out of context.













Also, based on the comments from "Pinky" who also sent an email to Straits Time, reporter Jeremy Au Yong and the 2 societies, said reporter APPARENTLY knows wendy cheng personally (This was the signal she got from her phone conversation with said reporter).


P.S. Marcus sent an email to the 2 societies as well and received the same feedback (They were quoted out of context by reporter Jeremy Au Yong).

Update: KimberlyCun has just sent an email to Jeremy about the following ST article. I have also added trackbacks/related entries manually because I am having technical problems with haloscan.

Again, the local media has decided to paint Xiaxue in a favorable light. Again, I am not the least bit surprised (because Wendy Cheng writes for Maxim which is a publication under SPH). The reporter Jeremy chose to interview Turodrique, Monica and Wendy Cheng (and provided a link to her blog) but only highlighted a small quote from Peter Tan's blog without even a link so that readers who are not familiar with the situation would only be able to get it from xiaxue's entry on the issue and her edited and highly filtered comments (which I am sure Jeremy knows is in no way a true representation of the reality of the situation).

Jeremy has also left out the views from other bloggers such as shaolintiger, marcus, sandrapowderpuff and kimberlycun. If you really want to know how we feel about the situation why don't you interview US?

On a forum not far away, readers expressed other views on the biased article.
