xlx wrote an article regarding Dawn praising her to the heavens. Subsequently, some evidence comes to light that she might have something to hide.
Not many journalists would have the guts to act on that damning evidence seeing how they have glorified their subject previously. Instead, xlx immediately acts without a hint of partiality and comes up with an alternative version of events the next day.
Now that's what i call journalistic integrity.

1. Nothing wrong with plastic surgery per se - we all like looking at pretty things.
2. Nothing wrong either with denying that you had plastic surgery - you are entitled to your privacy.
However, #2 changes when you are a public figure - as XLX says, there's no way she can hide her past once she puts herself in the limelight. Instead of denying it, she should just admit it and move on - like Joan Rivers. :)

So what if she had plastic surgery? I found some of the comments slamming her as "ugly" quite ridiculous. Frankly, she was a pretty girl in those past photos as well. XX is always contradicting herself in her post. She gets upset when people claims she is jealous when she attacks others. And then she turns around to claim that all her detractors are "ugly".

Actually, this Dawn-surgery thing is not new. there has been talk on it on forums, blogs and she used to have a friendster account created for the purpose of defaming her. Its just that with fame I guess it gets blown out of proportion. Sadly, for Dawn I think she can't deny it without displeasing anyone.
Did she have surgery? Maybe. her nose doesn't look real. But I seriously think dawn's a nice girl and I really don't care whether she has had it or not because given her looks and personality she's definitely star material (self-conciousness aside, maybe.)
Her surgery (if any) does not deprive a physically disabled person of his or her toilet.

I am not sure how many people here expect their school mates to remain the same looking after SECONDARY school days, but for me, most of them have undergone tremendous changes.
Most ugly ducklings have become prettier or some sort. And by no means they have gone for surgery.
And even for guys, most of my friends have said I look hell different from my school days.
When you lose weight, some things look one hella different. Anyone paid attention to even the picture of Panda Xiong (Xiong Tian Ping) after he ballooned from 60kgs or something like that to 100kgs.
Reverse it around.
The only things that made her look really different in recent photos are:
1) She is a lot fairer. This can be achieved by the lack of outdoor life and normal treatment. Some people have turned really fair from stopping sports for quite a number of years.
2) Her eyes are colored contact lenses most probably. Couple it with her very fair skin, it does give somewhat an effect of a eurasian.
3) Her hair color, brow color can be dyed easily.
4) Fake lashes. Look at XX and you will know what we are talking about.
Essentially, all I see is a girl who has lost baby fat, weight and has grown from a school girl to an adult.
Ok gonna be objective here. Dawn may look rather different, but the similarity is still after all there. I agree with anon 07:16 on all those cosmetic things being able to make a huge diff, with help of surgery or not. Even i looked like HORRENDOUSLY GROSS way back.
Everyone just focuses on the few bad shots of her, n say she was damn ugly, but that's not true at all! Look at her other nice shots in the same period. As I remember, she also caused quite a stir during the first 3 months in ACJC too for being a babe.
I must say she was still pretty and it sounds like some ex-classmates r getting jealous of her sudden fame. Or else why not attack the other thousands of ppl who have had surgery (n don't admit)? I personally think it's sad we try so hard to tear apart our local singaporeans while no one says anything about the korean stars or japan's ayumi or taiwan's jolin n many more celebs.
Give the poor girl a break. Did she do anything evil or wicked or bitchy to anyone? No.
cmon we can tell. if someone has changed from then to now, the change can't be as drastic as dawn's. it's impossible for her to have changed from THAT to THIS now just through 'losing baby fat, getting fairer, coloured contact lens and hair'. people understand those changes but the focul point here are her facial features.
small "chinese" eyes--> big manga eyes
roundish nose with low nosebridge--> sharp tip and unnaturally high nosebrige
short round face--> long sharp face
there's no need to put up a defence here. people can see with their own two eyes.
jealousy is not a factor here. people are just pissed off with how she has forsaken her past and taken on a new fake identity, not just the outlook but inside too, lying about heredity and what not.

Hmmm larger eyes are possible when you lose weight.
I think some of the people here need to learn or find out more about looks transformation via loss of baby fat on the face.
You can and will have bigger eyes when you lose weight.
That is why fat people have small tiny eyes usually.
The main point is, even if she did or did not do plastic surgery, what business is it of yours?
