Newsflash: Man hit and killed by train at Clementi MRT Station

http://xialanxue.blogspot.com - This just in, a man was hit and killed by a train at Clementi MRT Station this evening. This is the second incident in less than two weeks! (Read about the first incident here)

The question we have to ask now is: What are our elites going to do to help make our MRT Stations safer?

Oh I forgot... the elites don't take the MRT.

you know, for something like this, everyone should be responsible for their own basic safety, not the government. I've yet to see any other countries spending millions wasting raw materials to fence up their tracks just because people are inconsiderate enough to commit sucide on the tracks.

maybe it's another family facing financial difficulty?
seeing e amt of funds that were donated to the previous family, maybe this victim had hoped for the same thing to happen...

just speculating tho...

btw i think they really need to fence up the tracks...well prevention is cure...
and i think singaporeans are generally inconsiderate :P

it certainly isn't feasible to enclose all the tracks to prevent these suicides. people would just find alternative ways of committing suicide. its not a matter of making the stations 'safer', if the issue is that people are intentionally throwing themselves in front of the train...

actually, alot of other countries did spend millions to build barriers. u should know that it affects the whole transport infrastructure if people keep doing that

maybe i'm wrong to say this, anyhow, if one has the intention to commit suicide, there are hundreds and ones ways to do it besides the track. think about flats, still there is very little preventive measures and throughout the decades, people are still doing it. now back on the track, i won't suggest any but think about the alternatives, there are few.

it's easy for me to comment i know. it's a very sad society. point is, do we work on the people or the track? sigh

Sad news indeed.....sigh

Anyway, the question should be this instead..

Q) How many elite does it take to help make our MRT Stations safer?

That would make it sounds better

;)

elites seem to find that millions of $ to build barriers are unaccounted for. they are not cost effective to save livessssssss. but elites dont mind putting millions of $$$ in their pocket by drawing high salary......... and no one is hurt in the process.

and elites dont take trains. so no one will push elites down tracks too by accident or foul play. why bother to build huh?
